US-based Parallel Systems, which develops autonomous and electric rail vehicles, raised 100 million dollars in a Series C funding round led by AVP. Founded in 2020, the company’s total funding has now surpassed 200 million dollars.
The company will use the new investment to:
- Increase production of its third-generation Panther vehicles
- Accelerate its commercial operations
- Expand abroad
The battery-powered Panther vehicles can carry loads of more than a few tons for up to approximately 805 kilometers without requiring an operator, and they produce no emissions. Parallel Systems is testing its technology under real-world conditions on a 257.5-kilometer rail line around the Port of Savannah.
