Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced that a second-wave operation had been carried out as part of the investigation into the crash of the helicopter in which Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and those accompanying him lost their lives. Under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, simultaneous searches and seizures were conducted at 45 addresses in 16 provinces, centered in Ankara, by the Ankara Provincial Police Department with the support of the National Intelligence Organization. Proceedings were initiated against 47 suspects who are considered to have participated in the premeditated intentional killing and to have committed crimes to prevent the incident from being uncovered as part of FETÖ/PDY activities. 33 suspects were taken into custody, 10 were determined to be in prison, and 4 fugitives are being sought. The investigation is examining the misdirection of search and rescue efforts, notes that did not reflect the truth, and the manipulation of witnesses.
