Mark Wahlberg will hold a main-stage conversation at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 with Bruce K. Lee, founder and CEO of Keebeck Wealth Management, focusing on entrepreneurship and investments. Wahlberg rose to prominence with the 1997 film “Boogie Nights”; his career includes two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe nomination for “The Fighter,” and multiple Emmy nominations as a producer, including for HBO’s “Entourage.” He is currently starring in “By Any Means,” a film set during the 1966 Mississippi civil rights murders.
In addition to acting, Wahlberg has spent the past two decades building a production company, a restaurant chain, apparel and fitness ventures, and angel investments. Through the 25-year-old Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, he supports children and young people in inner cities. In the conversation, he will discuss how he developed his investment approach alongside the brands and businesses he has built.
The discussion will also cover Wahlberg’s development of an institutional-scale investment discipline under Lee’s guidance and his growing interest in health and wellness ventures. The conversation will address the mistakes celebrities and athletes make in investing, how he has changed his own old instincts, creating access and investment opportunities through the credibility his career has provided, as well as the technologies he is focused on.
The event will take place at Moscone West in San Francisco on October 13-15. In addition to Wahlberg and Lee, 250+ technology leaders will take part across 200+ sessions; 10,000+ technology leaders are expected to attend. Ticket prices will increase on September 25; attendees can save up to 200 dollars before that date. The deadline to reserve an exhibition table is September 18.
Why it matters
This event raises the question of whether fame can stand in for investment discipline when it comes to gaining access to business and investment opportunities. Wahlberg’s linking of his ventures in different fields to an institutional-scale investment approach will offer a framework for how the visibility of celebrities and athletes in the business world is managed. In particular, addressing past investment instincts and mistakes is important in terms of how personal reputation can affect decision-making processes. Discussing the health and wellness ventures and the technologies being focused on will turn the conversation from merely an actor’s business experience into a discussion that technology and entrepreneurship circles will take an interest in. The open question is how the advantage of access can be converted into long-term and measured investment decisions.
