Littelfuse, the owner of the Zilog name, announced to its customers in notice PCN ZAC26-0074 that it will take final orders for the eZ80 and its other microcontroller families. Mouser has marked eZ80 products as “End of Life.” The original Z80 and its peripherals were discontinued a few years ago, and the eZ80 had remained an alternative until now. Orders will be accepted until December 21, 2026; final deliveries will be made throughout 2027 as Littelfuse ends its microcontroller production. It is noted that the Z80 could live on in real silicon through open-source compatible cores and the TinyTapeout project.
