JMGO’s Iris Ultra Max 4K 120Hz Google TV projector has gone on sale outside China. Its new dual-iris system promises a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1 by controlling light scattering and brightness more precisely. The triple-laser light source provides 6,500 ISO lumens of brightness, while the 120Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution is designed for fast sports broadcasts and gaming. The projector features VRR and ALLM to reduce gaming latency and image tearing, as well as Dolby Vision HDR support at 4K 120Hz. A motorized horizontal-vertical gimbal, 0.88–1.7:1 optical zoom, and V±130% / H±53% lens shift make it easier to position the image. Since the previous N3 Ultimate model was reported to suffer from color distortion at its highest brightness, waiting for reviews is recommended. The product’s regular price will be $3,499; in preorders starting today, the price is $2,999. Shipping will begin on October 19th.
Why it matters
This model targets users who value high refresh rates for fast sports broadcasts and gaming, expanding the projector’s role beyond simply watching films and TV series. Support for VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision broadens the criteria for users seeking smooth performance and HDR image quality in these use cases. The motorized gimbal, optical zoom, and wide lens-shift range provide greater flexibility regarding where the device can be installed; these features are particularly relevant to users with limited options for fixed mounting. However, the price level could limit the product to those seeking a high-end home theater and gaming experience rather than a broad audience. The reported color distortion at high brightness on the previous model leaves open the question of whether the new system will live up to its promises in real-world use.
