New technical details have been shared about the standard model Magic 9 in the Magic 9 series, which Honor is reportedly set to unveil on September 28. According to claims by Digital Chat Station, the phone will feature a 6.36-inch flat OLED display and a battery in the 8000 mAh class. The rear camera system could also include two 200-megapixel sensors, wireless charging, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The battery is reportedly set to use Honor’s third-generation Qinghai Lake silicon-carbon technology. This technology can provide higher energy density than graphite-anode batteries of the same volume. The 6.36-inch display suggests that the device could be smaller than many high-end Android phones with screens measuring 6.7 inches or more. While the dimensions and weight of the Magic 9 remain unknown, the claim that its battery capacity is the highest in its class has not yet been confirmed.

Why it matters

If the claims are confirmed, the Magic 9 could stand out from large-screen high-end Android phones by aiming to offer high battery capacity in a smaller-screen body. The significance of Qinghai Lake silicon-carbon technology lies in its claim to increase energy density without expanding the battery’s physical volume; however, it is unknown how this will affect actual usage time and the device’s overall weight. Two high-resolution sensors, wireless charging, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader indicate that the model could be positioned not only around its battery capacity but also around its camera and usability features. However, the display, battery, and camera information is based on the claims of a single leak source; whether the capacity is the highest in its class, along with the device’s dimensions and weight, remain open questions.
