Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that 11 new assignments had been made in the central organization of the General Directorate of Security. Rüştü Yılmaz was appointed head of the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, Adnan Özdemir head of the Department of Counter-Narcotics, Hüseyin Ediz Tercanoğlu head of Special Operations, and Murat Türesin head of Personnel. Nihat Uzun, Turgay Olgun, Fatih Tatlıoğlu, Oykun İlgün, Beyhan Gürbüz, Aydın Uğurlu and Salih Gözüm were also appointed to various department head positions.
Çiftçi wished the appointed officials success and expressed his hope that the assignments would be beneficial to the Security Organization, the country and the nation.
