It has been claimed that Apple is partnering with LG to expand in the smart home market. According to Bloomberg, the product family to be sold under the LG brand will include:
- Smart lock
- Thermostat
- Video doorbell
- Indoor and outdoor security cameras and a floodlight camera
The devices will work in integration with Apple’s smart home hub, which features an approximately 6-inch square display and can be mounted on a wall; the hub is expected to be unveiled at the event on October 13. Some of the devices have been spotted in FCC filings. Matter and Thread support will enhance HomeKit compatibility; the lock will be able to unlock automatically via UWB. Apple is also known to be working on an AI-powered, Siri-centric display, a new HomePod mini, and an Apple TV.
