Introduction
Apple laid off approximately 200 employees across its Vision Pro, Siri, and software engineering teams. Approximately 100 of the cuts were in the Vision Pro department; the game development team was largely shut down, while the video unit was downsized.
Developments
The company will reduce content made specifically for Vision Pro and encourage third-party producers.
Details
Around 100 other positions in the Siri and software teams were eliminated as part of the transition to the new technical architecture developed for “Siri AI.” Apple said new roles would be created and that affected employees could apply for open positions within the company.
