Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra will be unveiled during the first half-day of the month, while further announcements are expected with the IFA show set to begin in Berlin and the new iPhone event taking place a week later. This busy launch period, known in the technology industry for years as “Techtember,” is once again coming to the fore in 2026, particularly for phones.
Europe’s largest technology show, IFA brings together more than 200,000 visitors and manufacturers from various parts of the world. Tecno has announced that it will showcase a bezel-less concept phone at the fair. TCL is expected to introduce its Nxtpaper phones featuring E Ink-like display technology. Xiaomi, meanwhile, will attend IFA for the first time. The company may unveil the Xiaomi 18 Fold, which is expected to be launched in early September, at its press conference on September 3.
Apple will not attend IFA but has announced that it will hold an event on September 9. New iPhone models are expected to be introduced at this event. According to rumors, the company may leave the iPhone 18 model for next spring and focus only on Pro models this month. The first foldable iPhone is also expected to be one of the event’s key products.
Android Headlines suggests that at least 20 phones could be unveiled this month. Huawei will launch its Mate XT 2 tri-foldable phone in China on September 7, while the Mate 90 series is also expected to be unveiled around the same time. Xiaomi’s 18 Pro series will arrive later in the month. Vivo has confirmed that it will announce its flagship X500 series, while Honor will announce its Magic 9 models in September. The Oppo Find X10 series is also expected to be unveiled this month. The OnePlus 16 is reportedly set to launch in September, but it will not be sold in the US or Europe.
The earlier unveiling of Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon processors is cited among the reasons for the high concentration of launches. The company will hold its Snapdragon Summit event from September 22–24 and is expected to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Android manufacturers are expected to announce phones one after another following the launch of the new processor.
