AK Party Secretary-General Eyyüp Kadir İnan, speaking in a live broadcast on A Haber, announced that the party had severed ties with Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, whose name has been mentioned in the “fund crisis” investigation.
İnan said the decision was taken on the instruction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and following assessments by the party’s authorized bodies, adding that Kaya is no longer a member of the party.
Emphasizing that the investigation is a legal process conducted by the judiciary, İnan said it would not be appropriate for him to comment on the matter.
Noting that the decision is not specific to Kaya alone, İnan explained that throughout its 25-year history, the party has parted ways with figures who did not align with its values.
İnan said they make their decisions patiently and after detailed examinations, stating that they will not bow to social media campaigns and “black propaganda.” Emphasizing that those responsible will be held accountable before the law, İnan said Erdoğan has given instructions to that effect.
