XC1 LCR at a Glance
Kerry Wong, known for his expertise in test equipment, has reviewed the ZOYI ZT-XC1 LCR meter and multimeter, an LCR measuring device that comes with compromises. In the past, devices capable of measuring inductance and capacitance in a home lab were rare. Today, many multimeters can read these values. While Wong found the charging port’s location on the back of the device inconvenient, he did not consider it a major issue.

However, in multimeter mode, the device cannot measure capacitance or current. This limits its use as a multimeter. While many capacitance meters cannot account for the capacitance of the test leads, this device has two front-mounted adapters for LCR measurements: – One accommodates through-hole components. – The other is a fixture that holds surface-mount parts.
Components that do not fit these adapters cannot be measured, and Wong’s reviews of oscilloscopes and test clips continue to be followed with interest.
