[mcer12] has developed the PixelFonts family, a set of condensed fonts designed to fit the maximum possible amount of text on each line of small, low-resolution displays.
- It works with the AdafruitGFX or U8g2 libraries.
- It offers regular and 3D shadowed versions, along with various height and weight options.
- Due to space constraints, accented letters are supported only in lowercase.
- Each font comes with a BDF file so it can be easily modified.
Subpixel rendering on color LCDs is also cited as another way to improve the readability of small fonts.
