7 thousand humanoid robots sold worldwide in 2025

According to data from the International Federation of Robotics, 7 thousand humanoid robots were sold in the industrial and professional service categories in 2025. A significant portion of the devices was used for research, software development and real-world data collection rather than production. The figure refers to net sales excluding demonstration prototypes and devices used for in-house testing; however, manufacturers’ definitions of “humanoid robot” may vary. Because of the challenges of bipedal movement, manual dexterity and uninterrupted operation throughout a shift, the number of sales does not directly mean productive manufacturing capacity.
