Czech Republic comments
Jude Bellingham described Harry Kane, who enjoyed a historic night against the Czech Republic, as “the best player to have worn this shirt.”
Kane equalled Peter Shilton’s record for the most England appearances by taking the field for the 125th time for the national team in the Nations League match played at Wembley on Tuesday night.
Kane’s comments
Kane scored two goals in this match; his assist came when Vladimir Coufal turned his cross into his own net. As England won the match 3-0, Kane received a standing ovation late on as he was replaced by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Speaking to ITV, Bellingham said Kane is an exemplary captain both on and off the pitch, adding, “It is an honour to play with him.”
Thomas Tuchel’s assessment
Head coach Thomas Tuchel also praised the striker, saying, “I struggle to find the words to describe him.”
With this result, England finished second in Group A3, behind Spain. Tuchel’s team must avoid an 8-0 defeat to Croatia in November in order to reach the quarter-finals in March.
