Dinner in the historic courtyard

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu traveled to Şırnak for the Gökyüzü Sofrası program, organized by CHP Women’s Wing Chair Ayten Gülsever, and a visit to the Cizre Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Deputy Chairman Nevaf Bilek and Kars MP İnan Akgün Alp also attended the program.

Speaking to the ANKA News Agency after the visit, Alp said they first went to the village of Pınarbaşı in İdil, where they came together with the local population and opinion leaders at an iftar dinner, and then visited the Cizre Chamber of Commerce to hear demands that would be brought to Parliament’s agenda. He noted that their final stop was the Kırmızı Medrese.

Alp stated that they had seen firsthand how the issues they emphasize in the framework law are reflected on the ground, and stressed that the CHP has conveyed its democratic stance on resolving the Kurdish question to the negotiations in an uncompromising and determined manner. He noted that they would follow up on the law’s implementation in Parliament and that subcommittees and monitoring commissions would be established.

Noting that the framework law also stems from an economic necessity, Alp said the annual cost of the Kurdish question to Turkey has reached 140 billion dollars, while its total cost has reached 2 trillion 300 billion dollars.
