*Daredevil: Born Again*, starring Charlie Cox, will conclude with its upcoming third season. According to Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, the decision was made about two months after filming for the third season was completed and was communicated to the cast yesterday morning.
In addition to the decision to end the series, Marvel Studios also parted ways with head writer Dario Scardapane while post-production, including editing, was ongoing. While it was not announced who would oversee the remaining work, the production was said to be close to completion. Marvel did not comment on the matter.
Following three seasons released on Netflix between 2015 and 2018, the series was revived for Disney+ with an 18-episode order in July 2022. After the writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023, the creative team changed; Scardapane replaced Matt Corman and Chris Ord, while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were brought in as directors. The order was split into two seasons and reduced to a total of 17 episodes.
Despite 7.5 million views in the first 5 days of its first season in 2025, US viewership fell by about 50% in the second season. The series, whose third season stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Wilson Bethel, will bid farewell on Disney+ in 2027.
